Súlur Vertical

Súlur Vertical mountain run took place last weekend (August 2nd and 3rd) and offered a spectacular experience for runners and enthusiasts of pristine nature and picturesque surroundings, as well as ITRA points.

Súlur Vertical takes place annually in Akureyri during the first weekend of August (verslunarmannahelgi - the Merchant weekend). The race was first held in 2016

There are four distances included in Súlur Vertical: 100km, 43km, 28km and 19km. The shorter distances start in Kjarnaskógur woods, but the 100km race starts at Godafoss Waterfall.

All the races end in downtown Akureyri. Plus, there's a fun kids' run on Friday in the Kjarnaskógur forest, which is a perfect activity for the whole family.
