New Year's Eve Bonfire in Akureyri

The annual New Year's Eve bonfire for Akureyri residents will be held at the same location as last year, on an open area just south of the golf clubhouse at Jaðar. The impressive bonfire will be lit at 8:30 PM on New Year's Eve.

The attached aerial photo shows the bonfire site, designated parking areas, and walking paths leading to the bonfire.

The traditional fireworks display will take place near Norðurorka's headquarters and is set to begin around 9:00 PM. The show is organized by the Súlur Rescue Team and generously sponsored by Norðurorka.
