We've had a busy week! Monday was Bun Day (Bolludagur), Tuesday was Meat Soup Day, and today is Ash Wednesday.

On this occasion, children dress up in costumes, visit shops and businesses, and sing songs in exchange for candy—almost like Halloween! However, here, kids have to perform and sing to earn their treats.

Many put great effort into their performances, carefully planning their costumes, dance moves, and even creating their own lyrics.
Akureyri has a long tradition of celebrating this day, with schools closing so children can take part in the festivities from the early hours.
