We will drive up to Hólabrún north of Villingadal, where the cars will be parked. From there, we will hike along the gorge of Torfufellsá and visit the Steinbogi rock formation. We will then continue up the valley along Torfufellsá to Svará, and from there into the bottom of Svarfdalur. In the middle of the valley, we will see the Sverrishaugur stone mound, which is tied to a local legend about a battle between the people of Eyjafjörður and Skagafjörður over grazing land in Galtartungum, at the far end of Villingadalur.

The hike follows mostly easy terrain. The same route will be taken back.
