His exhibition includes one large painting of Akureyri and north Iceland, and monotypes of the Akureyri area. The painting combines abstract map imagery from three focal lengths above the earth to create one unifying composition. The trace Monotypes depict various scenes of Akureyri captured by the artist when walking throughout the town.
Jonathan was born in New York and has earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the Fine Arts. He has been living in the Boston area for the past 35 years, where he teaches painting, printmaking, and figure drawing to high school students. He maintains a studio in Concord, Massachusetts and has exhibited his work at numerous venues in the suburban Boston area.
