The bus will take participants to Systragil in Fnjóskadalur, where the Þingmannavegur hike begins, crossing Vaðlaheiði. The route descends at Eyrarland on the Eyjafjörður side. This is an old traditional route, making it a great opportunity to see the historic stone bridge and rock construction from 1871. The hike follows trails for the most part. The hike concludes with a walk from Eyrarland to Skógarböðin.

It would be nice for the group to finish at Skógarböðin and have a meal at Skógur Bistro, though this is entirely optional. Those who prefer not to participate in that can head straight home.
