Participants can choos to take the hike to Stórurð or visit the village at Bakkagerði and make a shorter walk there.
Early departur from Akureyri at 06:00. Drive to Borgarfjörð eystri. The walk to Stórurð begins by the service house in Vatnsskarði. From there the walk continues through Geldingafjall (about 270 m elevation) and along Geldingaskörð to Stórurð. From there down the craig. From Stórurð the route will depend on weather and back to the bus.
Those who chose rather to visit the village will make a short walk by Innra Hvanngil, a stop by Naddakross. When in the village Bakkagerði, stop by the Hafnarhólmann and in the village on its own.
Two hours stop in Egilsstaðir on the return.
Arrival to Akureyri aprox 22:30.
