Pipes, Case, and Notes – Let’s Build an Organ

Pipes, Case, and Notes – Let’s Build an Organ

Let’s Build an Instrument! How Does an Organ Work?

Join us for a fun and interactive workshop where we assemble an organ—pipe by pipe—arrange notes, connect the wind chest, and put together the organ case. And, of course, we’ll get to play the instrument!

At the end of the session, we’ll perform a fairy tale for organ and narrator, a piece specially composed for this instrument.

This workshop is part of Organ Kids, an exciting and educational project that has been a great success across Europe in recent years.

The organ we’ll be working with is small, lightweight, and designed to be easily taken apart and reassembled—just like building blocks or LEGO!

The session is led by organist Sigrún Magna Þórsteinsdóttir, lasts about an hour, and is intended for children aged 6-12 years.
