Northern Lights - Fantastic Film Festival is an annual themed film festival in Akureyri. The festival shows 47 "fantastic" (fantasy, horror, sci-fi, animation) short films that compete for prestigious awards.

In addition to shows in Hofi (ticket sales at mak.is), there will also be open events in Deiglu, i.a. opening ceremony, panel discussion by directors of selected competition films, master's talk with John Dilworth (guest of honor and creator of the famous cartoon series Courage the Cowardly Dog) and a pub quiz at Akureyri Backpackers."
