In our backyard here in Akureyri lies the stunning Glerárdalur, with all its peaks and natural beauty. This trip is aimed at a pleasant and rejuvenating hiking experience that includes activities for self-care, meditation, and light yoga, to name a few. Participants need to be ready to engage in the trip's activities with an open mind. We will spend one night at Lamba, an FFA hut in Glerárdalur, where there are great facilities.
Day 1, Saturday:
We will hike an unmarked trail from Finnastðir in Eyjafjarðarsveit, up Finnastaðadal and over the saddle east of Glerárdalshnjúkur. From there, we will descend into Glerárdalur, leading us to Lamba, the FFA hut.
Distance: 12 km
Elevation Gain: 900-1000 m
Once at the hut, we will settle in, have a shared meal, meditate, and enjoy a cozy time together.
Day 2, Sunday:
We will hike from Lamba down to Glerá, which needs to be crossed. From there, we will continue to the Trolls, distinct rock formations east of Tröllafjall. We will then hike to the lake, Tröllaspegill, where we will pause for reflection, weather permitting.
Afterward, we will walk down Lægðin to Glerá, continue along the western bank of the river to Fremri Lambá and Heimari Lambá, and reach the dam in Glerárdalur. The hike will conclude at the parking area on the western side of the river.

We expect to return to Akureyri in the late afternoon.
