The hike starts at Dalvík Church, following a beautiful canyon and a dirt track. There is a stunning view into the valley, which has two names—on our side, it is called Upsadalur, while the other side of the river is Böggvisstaðadalur. The hike continues up Melrakkadalur before returning along the same route. If there is snow, the hike may be more challenging, and it is advisable to bring crampons.
