Harp Concert in Hof

Harp Concert in Hof

Elísabet Waage and the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra

In celebration of Hof's new concert harp, a special harp concert will take place at Hof on March 23, 2025, to introduce the instrument to curious music enthusiasts. The word "HARPA" has many meanings: Harpa represents spring, the gift of poetry, and the beautifully crafted multi-stringed instrument. And now, the harp is coming to the North. It is exciting news that the residents of Hof, with support from the City of Akureyri and KEA, have finally acquired a concert harp, which will be showcased during this concert in both solo and ensemble performances, bringing listeners close to the instrument. The program will feature:

Program:

  • J. Turina (1882-1949): Ciclo plateresco for harp and piano
  • M. Ravel (1875-1937): Pavane pour une infante défunte for chamber ensemble and harp
  • C. Debussy (1862-1918): Danses sacrée et profane for harp and string orchestra

Performed by harpist Elísabet Waage and members of the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
