Rabbit Erosion

Rabbit Erosion

“Rabbit Erosion” is an energetic dance piece for children and family audiences.

Rabbit Erosion is an energetic dance performance intended for young audiences, 4-10 years old, and family audiences. The piece stages two bunnies who play games searching for connection. The creators of Rabbit Erosion are Leevi Mettinen, a Finnish dance artist, and Sóley Ólafsdóttir, an Icelandic dance artist. DJMAR!A, María Kristín Jóhannsdóttir, performs in the piece along with Leevi and Sóley. Two rabbits; Leynir & Læða, round and about, talking and spinning. Læða is square, a rapid rabbit, Leynir a round rabbit, mellow. Sometimes it’s fun and sometimes, just a bit too much. They see and say different things, even so, they are stuck together on this stage, attempting to follow the same line. How will it go? How will they cope? The piece stages embodied emotions and thinking patterns in a character dance that accumulates with clapping games. Rabbit Erosion addresses communication and behaviour in a game system, the rabbits get lost in the fun and thereby need to address difficult topics like boundaries. After the performance the audience will be invited to an open dancefloor where DJMAR!A dj’s and the rabbits lead a rabbit movement workshop.
