We will drive to Staðarbakki in Hörgárdalur. From there, we will hike through the valley and across the heath, leading us down Hjaltadalur to Reykir, where the bus will be waiting for the group to drive back home. The majority of the hike follows old paths, and we will need to ford rivers along the way. Waterproof boots are essential and it’s also a good idea to bring hiking poles.
