Drive towards Skagafjörður and continue along Blönduhlíð to the mouth of Héraðsvatn. The hike starts at the monument of Jón Ósmann, the ferry man, and the story about him will be recalled. The hike continues along the coastline, which is flat and easy. At Hegranes Lighthouse, there is a great view in clear weather.
Distance: 6 - 7 km. Elevation gain: None.
Those who wish can go swimming in Hofsós after the hike. It’s also fun to stop at Kotagil either on the way out or on the way back.
