Boreal Screendance Festival 2024

The fifth edition of Boreal Screendance Festival will be held November 1st - 13th 2024! Screening locations are The Akureyri Art Museum, Mjólkurbúðin Gallery and Deiglan Gallery.

Since its inception in 2020, Boreal has taken over Akureyri’s Art Street “Listagilið” each autumn. The festival strives to promote dance and multimedia in North Iceland with innovative screenings of video art from all over the world. For this edition, 34 screendance and video art pieces will be presented from 21 different countries!

Boreal has gained attention for a creative approach of presenting video art with a great emphasis on image and sound quality. The festival is unique to Iceland's cultural landscape, being the only festival of its kind held annually.
