August 16-17 (Saturday & Sunday)
We will drive to Svartárkot in Bárðardalur and hike along a vehicle track to Suðurárbotnar, where we will stay overnight in the Botnar cabin. The following day, we will hike back the same route to Svartárkot. Suðurárbotnar offers a magical landscape with many small ponds. Though the hike is relatively long, the terrain is easy to traverse.
Distance: 15-16 km each way.
Elevation gain: Minimal.
Price: ISK 4,500 / 6,500 for adults, free for children.
Included: One-night accommodation for one adult and children, as well as guided leadership.
Departure: 09:00 by private cars from FFA, Strandgata 23.
Carpooling can be arranged if needed.
