In Mt. Hlíðarfjall there are good Mountain bike trails and hiking tracks to the top of the Mountain offering great views of the fjord of Eyjafjörður and of the town Akureyri. Enabling transport up the mountainside, whether it's to enjoy the bike park or to walk around the mountain and enjoy the view.
During summer the main chairlift (Fjarkinn) will be open on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from July 18 to September 8, 2024. It is planned that upper-chairlift (Fjallkonan) will be open four weekends this summer from August 3 to August 25, on Saturdays and Sundays from 10-15.

There are good facilities for both cyclists and hikers in the mountain. For those who only want to take the lift back and forth and enjoy the magnificent view that the mountainhut "Strýtuskálinn" offers, the lift ticket is also valid for the return trip with the lift. Cyclists can take their bikes with them to the lift.
