Ice Skating

The Akureyri Ice Rink is open for general public on weekends. There is an skate rental as well as sharpening service in the Ice Rink. The canteen sells snacks and is open during public skating.

Opening hours for general public:
Fridays 13.00 - 16.00
Friday nights (Ice Disco) 19.00 - 21.00
Saturdays 13.00 - 16.00
Sundays 13.00 -16.00

(The rink is closed may, june, july and august)

The Skating Club of Akureyri (established 1937) runs the ice rink. The Rink is located in the southest end of the Old town and is in walking distance from Centrum. The Skating Club of Akureyri runs its practises every day of the week and events are mostly on weekends such as Ice Hockey games, Figureskating shows and Curling Championships.
