Easter in Akureyri is an unforgettable experience. Below you can see the program taking place during the holidays (27th March – 1st April 2024).

To make the visit as pleasant as possible, it is good to plan well, book in advance for restaurants and entertainment / culture where possible. Many restaurants also offer " Take-away ".
Opportunities for outdoor activities are numerous. There are various hiking trails in and around the town, visit Kjarnaskóg where there are great playgrounds, sledge slops and fun hiking trails. There is always plenty to do in Hlíðarfjall , ski down the slopes, do snowboards or cross-country skis. Mountain skiing is also popular and there are many options in the area. You can see opening hours of shops/cafes/restaurants at the bottom of the document (much more is open these are only the one who has informed us especially).
