The festival takes place in Akureyri 5th-8th. October A! is a four-day international performance festival held annually and now in its ninth year. Events take place around the town, including at the Art Museum, Hofi, Mjólkurbúðinn and Deiglunn. Admission to all events is free.

A jury selected works from a group of diverse artists and there are performances of all kinds on the program. The participants are young and aspiring artists, along with experienced and well-known performance artists. This time the performances will take place in the Art Museum in Akureyri, Menningarhúsin Hofi, Deiglu and Mjólkurbúðinn.The participants are: Aðalheiður S. Eysteinsdóttir, Curver Thoroddsen, Dustin Harvey, Tales Frey and Hilda de Paulo, Hans-Henrik Suersaq Poulsen, Yuliana Palacios, Harpa Arnardóttir, Heiðdís Hólm Guðmundsdóttir, Kuluk Helms, Sigurður Guðmundsson, Video Festival Heim.
The performance festival is a collaborative project of the Art Museum in Akureyri, the Akureyri Theater Association, Hof's Cultural Center, the Video Arts Festival Heim, the Private Museum, the Fine Arts Association, the Gilfélag, the Art Study Program at the Vocational School in Akureyri, the Visual Arts Center, the University of Akureyri, RIFF and NAPA.
