The opening ceremony of Akureyri Cultural Festival - romantic atmosphere, dance and music in the illuminated Botanical gardens.

The event begins at 20:30 with a welcome address and a presentation of the Akureyri Cultural Festival program. Following the address, dancers from Steps Dance Center will perform a piece titled "Pirates Haunt the Town." Afterward, the singing quartet Ómar will take the stage. Then, dancer and summer artist of Akureyri, Sunneva Kjartansdóttir, will present a dance piece. Next, the North Icelandic Brass Quintet will perform, adding to the fun atmosphere with classical tunes. Finally, singer and musician Svavar Knútur will close the evening with some sweet tunes perfectly suited for the occasion.

The program is scheduled to end at 22:00.
